40 Hadith Transliteration PDF 11

This article is about the 11th hadith from the famous collection of 40 hadith by Imam al-Nawawi, also known as the most comprehensive and holistic compilation of hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) . The hadith is as follows:

On the authority of Abu Muhammad Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "None of you [truly] believes until his desires are subservient to that which I have brought." [Imam an-Nawawi says:] We have related it in Kitab al-Hujjah with a saheeh chain of narrators.

This hadith teaches us about the importance of submitting our will and desires to the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him). It also shows us that true faith is not just a matter of verbal declaration, but rather a state of the heart and mind that reflects in our actions and behavior. The following are some points of reflection and application from this hadith:

  • We should always check our intentions and motives before doing anything, and make sure that they are in accordance with the teachings of Islam. We should not follow our whims or desires blindly, but rather seek the pleasure of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him).

  • We should study and learn the Quran and the Sunnah, and understand their meanings and implications. We should also seek knowledge from reliable and authentic sources, and avoid doubtful or fabricated matters. We should not be satisfied with superficial or partial knowledge, but rather strive to attain a comprehensive and holistic understanding of Islam.

  • We should implement what we learn in our daily lives, and practice what we preach. We should not be hypocritical or inconsistent, but rather sincere and steadfast. We should not compromise our principles or values for worldly gains or pleasures, but rather sacrifice and struggle for the sake of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him).

  • We should love Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) more than anything else, and follow their example in all aspects of our lives. We should also love what they love, and hate what they hate. We should not be influenced by the opinions or trends of others, but rather adhere to the truth and justice.

By doing so, we can hope to attain the level of true faith that this hadith describes, and become among those who are beloved to Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him). May Allah grant us this honor and blessing, and make us among those who listen to the speech and follow the best of it. Ameen.
